TURTLE SANCTUARY & ECOLOGICAL CENTER
Situated beside the inner lagoon, the Ecological Center began in 2000 when a guest brought in an injured turtle to the hotel for care. The Turtle Center project was born, dedicated to the protection and care of the local marine life. Le Méridien Bora Bora continuously invested in this program, with only two of its kind in French Polynesia. In 2012, the Ecological Center with a coral preservation program began. Working with Bora Bora’s Ministry and the Delegation of the Environment, a team at the resort is devoted to the care of the marine turtle. This program offers activities unique to our resort, allowing you to observe turtle behavior, learn how they are cared for and participate in the protection of sea turtles, including endangered green turtles, to ensure their successful future in the ocean.
